Dollar index drops 0.18%

The Dollar Index dropped 0.187 to 77.94, in the spot market. It touched a sky-scraping of 78.13 and a lowdown of 77.94 after opening at 78.07.

Euro - USD was trading at 1.37 upbeat 0.0058% whereas USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 82.65, upbeat 0.1295%.

On Friday, Indian rupee closed at 44.83, downhill 0.52%.

Rupee at 2-week low at 44.57/58 per dollar

Rupee weakened to its lowest level in two weeks early Friday, hurt by bunched upbeat dollar demand from foreign banks following Veteran's Day holiday in the U.S. and broad gains in the greenback versus major units.

Rupee was at 44.57/58 per dollar, after striking 44.5975, its weakest since Oct. 27 and 0.6 percent below its Thursday's close of 44.31/32.

Euro - USD was trading at 1.36 downhill 0.0047% whereas USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 82.35, downhill 0.1328%.

On Thursday, Indian rupee closed at 44.31, upbeat 0.0038%.

Rupee rises at 44.28/29 per dollar

On Thursday, Rupee strengthened, helped by the dollar's loss beside majors and early adds in stocks, but dealers said it may come under pressure on likely importer dollar demand and lack of large dollar inflows.

Rupee was at 44.28/29 per dollar compared with Wednesday's 44.30/31 close.
