On Friday, oil prices scaled close to USD 76 a barrel in Asia as better economic indicators from Japan to the U.S. boosted confidence that demand for fuel will get better.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange, Benchmark crude for October delivery was upbeat USD 1.57 to USD 75.82 a barrel at late afternoon Bangkok time in electronic trading. On Thursday, the contract knocks out 42 cents to resolve at USD 74.25 a barrel.
Heating oil was upbeat 1.58 cents at USD 2.084 a gallon and gasoline added 2.46 cents to USD 1.960 a gallon, in other Nymex trading in October contracts. Natural gas increased 2.1 cents to USD 3.789 per 1,000 cubic feet.
On the ICE Futures exchange, Brent crude increased 31 cents to USD 77.78 a barrel, in London
