Ukraine Spring Grain panting begins later than normal

Farmers in Ukraine's Southern regions have planted 11,000 hectares with spring grain by March 14, the agriculture ministry reported. The agriculture ministry said it estimated this year's grain harvest at 42 million metric tons. Ukraine's grain harvest in 2010 fell by 14.8% on the year to 39.23 million tons in clean weight because of drought. The planting campaign this year began about two weeks later than normal because of inclement weather conditions. In 2010, planting was also delayed by the weather, with no spring grains reported planted before March 16. In 2009 200,000 hectares was planted by March 16 and in 2008 400,000 hectares was planted by March 16.

Chana stable at Delhi Mandi, Buying Seen In Futures

Most of the spot prices in major mandies were still unmoved today. The prices of Delhi mandi were reported at Rs. 2500 per quintal while Annagiri quality chana were at Rs. 2350 per quintal, unmoved from the previous day. The whole arrivals of approximately 2.50 lakh bags were reported today, unchanged from the previous day. In futures market, chana futures April standard agreement gained by Rs. 14 per quintal, trading at Rs. 2518 per quintal today. Technically, future prices are likely to trade in the range of Rs. 2495-2535 per quintal.

China Natural Gas output increase 5.5% in Jan-Feb 2011

China’s natural gas output countrywide increased 5.5% year on year to 33.72 million tons in the first two months, according to the national bureau of statistics. Natural gas output in February increased 5.3% y-o-y to 15.91 million tones. National power generation totaled 6.77 tWh in the first two months up by 11.7% y-on -y while power generation in February increased 15.4% year on year to 3.1 tWh.

Not much buying concern was seen in china’s   spot market in the present day as the spot prices of chana at Delhi mandi remain unaffected from the very last day. The prices of Delhi mandi were reported at Rs. 2500 per quintal whereas Annagiri quality chana were at Rs. 2350 per quintal, unmovable from the previous day. The total arrivals of around 2.25 lakh bags were reported today, unmoved from the previous day. In futures market, chana futures April standard agreement gain by Rs. 2 per quintal, trading at Rs. 2514 per quintal today.
